The Beechcraft Model 18, affectionately known as the Twin Beech, stands as one of general aviation's most enduring success stories. First flown in 1937, this twin-engine workhorse remained in continuous production for an astonishing 32 years until 1970, with over 9,000 airframes built across dozens of variants. The B18T designation indicates a turbocharged variant, typically modified from earlier E18S or H18S models with aftermarket turbocharging systems that significantly improved high-altitude performance and hot-and-high operations compared to the naturally aspirated originals. While Beechcraft never factory-produced a B18T model per se, the designation became common shorthand for turbocharged conversions that extended the type's utility well into the jet age.
