The Bombardier CRJ700 is a stretched derivative of the pioneering CRJ200, designed to bridge the gap between 50-seat regional jets and larger narrowbodies. Introduced in 2001, the CRJ700 seats 66 to 78 passengers and became the backbone of North American regional airline networks, offering mainline carriers a cost-effective way to serve thin routes with jet service. Its distinctive T-tail and rear-mounted General Electric CF34-8C5 engines deliver a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.85 and a range of approximately 1,500 nautical miles, making it ideal for stage lengths of one to three hours.
