The Bombardier Global 5000 represents the Canadian manufacturer's entry into the ultra-long-range business jet market, certified in 2005 as a slightly smaller sibling to the flagship Global Express. Powered by twin Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofans, the Global 5000 was designed to connect city pairs like New York to London or Los Angeles to Geneva nonstop with up to thirteen passengers in stand-up-cabin comfort, cruising at Mach 0.85 and reaching altitudes up to 51,000 feet. Its 5,200-nautical-mile range positioned it between traditional super-midsize jets and the longest-range Gulfstreams, carving out a niche for operators who needed intercontinental capability without the acquisition cost of a Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650.
