Socata Tb-10 Tobago
Single Piston
The Socata TB-10 Tobago is a French-built four-seat touring aircraft that emerged in the late 1970s as part of Socata's successful TB family of light singles. Designed with a distinctive low-wing configuration and a spacious cabin, the TB-10 was engineered for comfortable cross-country flying with excellent visibility and docile handling characteristics. Powered by a 180-horsepower Lycoming O-360 engine, it offered European general aviation pilots a modern alternative to aging American designs, combining French attention to cabin comfort with reliable American powerplants. The Tobago name reflects Socata's Caribbean island naming convention for the TB series, which also includes the Trinidad and Trinidad TC variants. The aircraft features a bonded metal construction with a one-piece wing and a sliding canopy that provides exceptional cockpit access and ventilation. Its cruise speed of around 125 knots and range of approximately 700 nautical miles made it popular for flight training and private touring across Europe and North America. The TB-10 remains in production today under the Daher banner following corporate consolidation, testament to the enduring appeal of its design. Safety in context
The incident rate counts flights with ANY safety event detected by SkyMeter — go-arounds (a routine response, not a failure), unstable-approach gate flags (advisory thresholds), rejected takeoffs (the system working as designed), and runway events. It is NOT an accident rate or fatality rate. For accident statistics, refer to the NTSB Aviation Accident Database (USA) or the Aviation Safety Network. See methodology for what each event type measures.
