About the Cessna 411
The Cessna 411 was a cabin-class piston twin produced from 1965 to 1968, representing Cessna's entry into the pressurized light business aircraft market before the more successful 421 series. Built in Wichita, Kansas, the 411 seated six to eight occupants and was powered by two Continental GTSIO-520 geared, turbocharged engines producing 340 horsepower each. The aircraft featured a distinctive pointed nose and was designed to compete with the Piper Navajo and Beechcraft Queen Air in the owner-flown corporate transport segment.
Only 252 examples were manufactured during its brief three-year production run, making it relatively rare compared to its successors. The 411 offered a maximum cruise speed of approximately 230 knots and a service ceiling of 26,000 feet, respectable performance for a piston twin of its era. However, the complexity of its geared engines and maintenance demands limited its commercial success.
Cessna quickly evolved the design into the Model 421 Golden Eagle, which added full cabin pressurization and became far more popular. Today, the 411 remains in limited service with private operators who value its spacious cabin and solid cross-country capability. SkyMeter has tracked flights across airframes and operators, with the largest observed operator.
