UR-UZQ is an Antonov An-32, a twin-engine turboprop. SkyMeter has tracked 104 flights totalling 61 hours of airtime via ADS-B across 5 callsigns. The most frequent segment is LYPG to LYPG. Service window in our records spans 377 days. Of those flights, 4 (3.8%) carry at least one detected incident — go-around, unstable approach, stall warning, or runway excursion. The Antonov An-32 has a maximum takeoff weight of 59,525 lb, medium wake category.
About the Antonov An-32
The Antonov An-32 is a Soviet-designed twin-turboprop tactical transport that stands out for its unusual high-mounted engines and exceptional hot-and-high performance. Developed in the late 1970s as a specialized variant of the An-26, the An-32 was purpose-built to operate from short, unprepared airstrips in mountainous regions and tropical climates where thin air cripples conventional aircraft. Its distinctive feature is the placement of its Ivchenko AI-20D turboprops well above the wing, which keeps propellers clear of debris on rough fields and provides better ground clearance for oversized cargo.
This design choice, combined with uprated engines producing 5,100 shaft horsepower each, gives the An-32 the ability to maintain single-engine flight at altitudes exceeding 20,000 feet—a critical capability when crossing the Himalayas or Andes with a full load. The Indian Air Force became the type's largest operator, using An-32s extensively for supply missions to high-altitude bases in Ladakh and the Siachen Glacier, where few other transports can match its performance. The aircraft can carry up to 6.7 tons of cargo or 50 paratroopers, with a rear ramp for vehicle loading and paradrop operations.
While newer Western transports like the C-27J offer more sophisticated avionics, the An-32 remains in service across Africa, Asia, and Latin America thanks to its ruggedness, simplicity, and unmatched ability to operate from austere airfields in extreme conditions. SkyMeter has tracked flights across airframes and operators, covering routes.
