Dassault Aviation Falcon 2000ex
Twin Jet
The Dassault Falcon 2000EX is a twin-engine business jet that extended the range and capability of the original Falcon 2000 when it entered service in 2003. Built by France's Dassault Aviation, the 2000EX was designed to bridge the gap between super-midsize and heavy jets, offering transcontinental range with the comfort of a wide-body cabin. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C turbofans, it can carry eight to ten passengers up to 3,350 nautical miles at Mach 0.80, making nonstop flights like New York to Paris or Los Angeles to Hawaii routine. The type's balanced field length of under 5,900 feet gives it access to shorter runways than many competing jets in its class, a hallmark of the Falcon family's versatility. The 2000EX features Honeywell Primus 2000 avionics with four-tube EFIS displays, and its low-speed handling remains docile with approach speeds around 115 knots. Dassault later introduced the 2000LX and 2000S variants with upgraded avionics and minor refinements, but the EX remains a popular choice in corporate and charter fleets worldwide. Its combination of range, cabin comfort, and short-field performance made it a strong seller in the competitive long-range business jet market of the 2000s. SkyMeter has tracked 25 flights across 1 airframes and 1 operators, with SHARP AVIATION PTY. LTD. the largest observed operator.
Safety in context
The incident rate counts flights with ANY safety event detected by SkyMeter — go-arounds (a routine response, not a failure), unstable-approach gate flags (advisory thresholds), rejected takeoffs (the system working as designed), and runway events. It is NOT an accident rate or fatality rate. For accident statistics, refer to the NTSB Aviation Accident Database (USA) or the Aviation Safety Network. See methodology for what each event type measures.
