Port Elgin Airport

On Monday July 19th myself and a friend flew into Port Elgin airport. The plan was to go to lunch at Lord Elgin Fish and Chip Restaurant. The gentleman on duty at the airfield, I believe his name was Bill , was kind enough to drop us at the restaurant on his way home for lunch, and then pick us up on his return to work. I needed fuel so I started up my plane and taxied over to the fuel pump. All gassed up now, and I was faced with a dead battery. No worries . Bill initially tried to hand prop the plane , when that was unsuccessful he tried to charge the dead battery from the one in his truck. Unfortunately that didn’t work either , so he then boosted me with the truck. The engine roared to life and off we went. Just wanted to thank him again for going above and beyond the call . Thanks Bill !!

A little soft in the spring but you're right, this is a great turf strip.
