Fun fly in
When reading comments from Anonymous posters, one should probably consider the source. Except, you can't. Because it's anonymous, likely for good reason. 57Alpha Cafe is alive and well, open for business, and this airport is a great day trip destination. We had a wonderful experience there last weekend, beautiful area… support GA!

Reply to @SPAflyer: Not anymore, he ran the FBO in the ground with his "business skills", and the county decided to let him run it when they took over. Ain't inbreeding grand?

57A Cafe
Decent eats right on the airport... pick a nice afternoon to fly in and enjoy the scenery and chocolate cake for dessert... Cheap fuel.

Fine facility at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains
5000' runway, nice approaches, and super nice people. Lest I forget, there's also the 57A cafe next to the terminal. It's not haute cuisine but it is convenient and the pretty good.
