RUNWAY NUMBERS
This is my home base and the runways numbered 4 and 22 are in fact 5 and 23. Can you make the necessary corrections please?. Thank you.

Adequate at best
This has not been much of an airport since the early 90s. No takeoffs after 1030 pm. (in anything!) Fuel extremely expensive. Poor TBOs. This airport has squandered every opportunity it has ever been provided (Peterborough is now reaping those rewards)

First time I flew there.
The first time I flew here was at night, and my first cross country with my wife. I came in off the lake shore and the controller said that he saw me on a right base. I said I couldn't see the airport (this was before the days of GPS). So the controller flashed the runway lights and I could see it. My wife was incredibly impressed that they flashed the whole airport at me.

Good Airport
Oshawa is a Good Airport. Free from that Pearson control cloak covering almost everything around Toronto, you can take off from Oshawa and get a training area right in front of you. Fast and convenient. Rental prices are the lowest in the whole GTA, though condition of the planes is... let's say, they are very well used. Oshawa has a useful NDB and a friendly tower, which won't punish you for inadvertently intruding their airspace (from the said training area) right away, and will be helpful and cooperating providing a flight following within their control zone when you go cross-country following the shoreline to Kingston or back. I would suggest this airport (or actually a Durham Flight Centre) as a choice for those who want to practice the instruments flying in GTA without bogging into the airliners dodging and violent radio chat almost inevitable East of Toronto.

Home!
My home airport...where I learned to fly and my father flew from for many years before me.
