The Extra EA 500 represents Germany's ambitious entry into the very light jet market of the mid-2000s, designed by aerobatic aircraft specialist Extra Flugzeugproduktions-GmbH. Certified by EASA in 2007, this six-seat twin-jet was engineered to bridge the gap between high-performance piston singles and traditional light jets, powered by two Williams FJ44-3A turbofans producing 1,500 pounds of thrust each.
