About the Cessna 500/Citation I

The Cessna Citation I holds the distinction of being the first production variant in what would become the world's most successful business jet family. Introduced in 1972 as an evolution of the original Citation 500 prototype, it established the template for straight-wing, twin-turbofan light jets optimized for short-field performance and owner-pilot operation. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT15D-1 engines producing 2,200 pounds of thrust each, the Citation I could operate from runways as short as 3,000 feet and cruise at 400 knots while carrying six passengers in a stand-up cabin.
