The Cessna Citation I holds the distinction of being the first production variant in what would become the world's most successful business jet family. Introduced in 1972 as an evolution of the original Citation 500 prototype, it established the template for straight-wing, twin-turbofan light jets optimized for short-field performance and owner-pilot operation.
