Safety incidents
75618 events · last 30 days
SkyMeter detected 75,618 flight safety events across the global tracked fleet in the last 30 days, with Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (LEMD) recording the most (2,060). The breakdown: 24,322 returns to field, 16,980 unstable approaches, 3,029 go-arounds, 756 stall warnings, 509 speed exceedances, and 286 rejected takeoffs. SkyMeter classifies these events from raw ADS-B trace data using deterministic detectors: go-around from altitude / vertical-speed reversals after final approach, unstable approach from gate-by-gate stability scoring against per-runway statistical envelopes, and stall / overspeed from broadcast IAS / Mach against per-type speed envelopes. Counts reflect detected events, not adjudicated incidents.

What these mean
Quick reference
Detection is complicated. ADS-B is imperfect. Gaps, ghost signals, coverage dead zones, missing airport metadata, training patterns, parallel-runway activity, and unfamiliar aircraft types all create false positives. These are signals worth reviewing, not official incident reports.
